PAAF Ekiti Celebrates International Women's Day

The International Women's Day Celebration organized by the Prince Adeyinka Alli Foundation (PAAF) on March 8, 2024, at the School of Nursing Science Hall in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, was a resounding success. The event aimed to honor women's achievements, raise awareness about gender equality, and empower women in various aspects of their lives.

The celebration featured engaging cultural performances by Ewa Asa Ekiti, captivating speeches by esteemed speakers, and thought-provoking discussions on important topics related to women's empowerment.

Ewa Asa Ekiti, a renowned cultural group, mesmerized the audience with their traditional Ekiti dialect song, celebrating the strength, resilience, and beauty of Ekiti women. The rhythmic beats of the talking drum, accompanied by melodious vocals, filled the hall with a sense of pride and unity. The song, rich in Ekiti folklore and heritage, served as a poignant reminder of the cultural richness and diversity of the Ekiti people.

Topic: “Strategies for Enhancing Women's Security in Our Society”

Mrs. Adeyemo, a Gender/CDOWA desk officer, shared valuable insights into strategies for enhancing women's security in society. She highlighted the importance of community involvement, advocacy, and support systems in creating safer environments for women.

Dr. Mrs. Grace Adeshina

Topic: "Preventive Care and Self-Care: Empowering Women to Take Charge of Their Health"

Dr. Mrs. Adeshina delivered an insightful presentation on the importance of preventive care and self-care practices for women's health empowerment. She emphasized the significance of early detection, healthy lifestyle choices, and regular screenings in maintaining overall well-being.

Miss Bukola Bamisile (Miss Itapa 2023)

Topic: "Importance of Girl Child Education"

Miss Bukola Bamisile the Miss Itapa 2023 delivered a compelling speech on the importance of girl child education in empowering future generations. She emphasized the transformative impact of education in breaking the cycle of poverty, promoting gender equality, and nurturing young girls' potential.

A total of 139 women were in attendance, representing diverse backgrounds and professions. They were well catered for, with refreshments and snacks provided throughout the event. The comfortable seating arrangements and attentive staff ensured that all attendees felt welcomed and appreciated.
