PAAF Inter School Debate Competiton in Oye LGA, Ekiti.

 The PAAF Inter-School Debate Competition organized in Oye local government area of Ekiti, held on the 7th of July 2023.

It was a competitive and educational event which had the presence of nine schools in attendance out of the fourteen schools invited. Present were teachers, members of the royal house, community youth leaders and PAAF executive team.

The topic of the debate; Subsidy removal is a blessing or curse to the nation was thoroughly battled.

The schools that participated were: 

1.Saint Augustine High School, Oye Ekiti

 2.Ayede Grammar School, Ayede Ekiti

 3.Ayegbaju Community High School, Ayegbaju Ekiti 

4.Itapa/Osin Community Comprehensive High School, Itapa Ekiti 

5. Ilupeju high school, ilupeju Ekiti 

6. Obalatan commercial high school, ilupeju Ekiti 

7. Ansarudeen High school, ire Ekiti 

8. Government science college, Ayede Ekiti 

9. Isan community High School, Isan Ekiti 

The debate featured a single round with two representatives from each school. ( A guest speaker and the supporting speaker). The debate was placed on 150 marks which included, dressing, boldness and expression. The participants displayed remarkable confidence and maturity, and the judges were highly impressed with their performances. 

The participants were well-prepared and presented their arguments with conviction and clarity. After much deliberation, the winners were announced,

First Position: Ayede Grammar School, Ayede Ekiti 

Second Position: Government science college, Ayede Ekiti .

Third Position: Saint Augustine High school, Oye Ekiti. 

PAAF gave school bags to the two speakers of the schools that came first, second, and third in the competition. All the attendees were given PAAF notebooks and biscuits.

The Inter-School Debate Competition was a huge success, and it showcased the intellectual capability and eloquence of the young minds of Oye LGA in Ekiti. The competition was a testament to the importance of critical thinking and effective communication skills with the students' display of sound argument.
